I am a PhD student in Harvard University’s Sociology Department. My research interests center on labor unions and their organizing strategies, state violence (including police violence), and economic inequality and class analysis more broadly.
My work on labor focuses on construction unions and their organizing models, examining how these strategies shape unions’ comparatively employer-friendly political stances and weaken their ability to challenge management and defend workers’ interests. I’m particularly interested in the historical-comparative dimensions of union organizing and how different approaches impact labor’s political power.
I’m also engaged in research exploring the relationship between economic inequality, gentrification, and police killings. Using census tract household income data and gentrification typologies, I analyze how interactions between race, class, and neighborhood change influence patterns of police violence. This work aims to contribute to a better understanding of police violence and inform efforts to address it.
Both areas of research reflect my broader interest in how class, spatial dynamics, and institutional power shape social inequality and collective action.
